Who is THEY that we hang our day to day lives upon

They Say Hindsight is 20/20

Who are ‘They’?

They say: “Hindsight is 20/20”

They say: ““Take notice, 18% of the people came from nursing homes, less than 1% came from jail or prison, 2% came from the homeless population, 2% from other congregate facilities, but 66% of the people were at home, which is shocking to us,” Cuomo said.” –https://www.cnbc.com/2020/05/06/ny-gov-cuomo-says-its-shocking-most-new-coronavirus-hospitalizations-are-people-staying-home.html

Who is ‘they’ that we hang our day to day lives upon? Who are ‘they’ to us that we should acquiesce our good sense? Our life’s experience. Our own knowledge base. Who are ‘they’ that we would so easily bow low and follow blindly every edict no matter the consequence?

‘They’ have moved into our lives and rearranged them so radically that our lives no longer resemble what used to be.

For some time, our culture has flung upon the doors to emotion. What used to be mostly understood as acceptable decorum in ‘polite society’, ‘respect for others’, ‘don’t say anything if you cannot say something nice/positive’, ‘do onto others as you would have them do unto you’. Now, we have emotions driving every facet of culture and if you turn your head and look out for a moment you may notice it is negative emotions that moved into the lead. Hatred and anger are now reflected by a substantial number of people from all walks of life.

To catch up on what exactly happened to change the mood of a nation -- and to some extent a world -- let’s be frank. The current president of the United States has garnered and galvanized quite a following of persons who have allowed their words and actions to deny and devalue their own alleged principles. What happened to no hate? Surely you know many who now routinely indulge in hate towards him. When you remark they are supposed to be accepting, tolerant, inclusive not hating ‘they’ respond it is not hating but disdain or strong dislike  -- but hate drives people to abandon long held ideals when they wish ill upon him or by extension anyone who says anything positive about him. Yet, the emotional fatigue many are beginning to complain is causing physical, psychological, and emotional damage to themselves which shows they spend way too much negative energy over a man who holds an office for 4-8 years, a man they categorically vehemently detest.

Then there were those who were out in black masks and gear beating up and threatening seniors and young people who support the object of disdain that drove the angry mob’s hatred. Again, people are getting hurt by the free flow of anger with no public pressure to stop.

The economy was on full blast humming along; more people had jobs than in any other time; trade with different countries was being overhauled to bring equitable balance to Americans who until this time had been hemorrhaging money and jobs to foreign entities. Trump doesn’t play well with the globalist elite who had a plan they felt was progressing along as well UNTIL he took office. After his election other countries followed suit electing nationalist based leadership.

With all of this an equalizer had to happen. To capitalize on the ‘emotion’ led cultures around the world, primarily in the western nations, FEAR was given a megadose injection into societies all over the globe and with that the world came to a stop. Reversal of fortunes, cessation of free practice of religion, the attempt to literally muzzle the muzzles of firearms, cessation of free movement whenever and wherever unencumbered converted to stay at home orders. Who exactly are ‘they’ to step out of the screen on your device and hold you hostage to their edict?

 The key to understanding

Hindsight is the cumulative bibliography of all things related to the answer of who ‘they’ are.

In 2008, a call went out from Public Health in different places for volunteers to become part of a newly formed Medical Reserve Corps [MRC]. These volunteers would be from the healthcare field and would be able to administer flu shots/sprays if asked to, would be called to assist if available during a mass injury disaster, to assist in communities separated from others from disaster related events. Those who attended the initial meet and greet a power point presentation we heard from the Director of Public Health in the state this author lived which included the definition of pandemic and the introduction of how a quarantine might be ordered/necessary in the event of a pandemic.

In 2017, Dr. Fauci is on record as saying this: ““If there’s one message that I want to leave with you today based on my experience, it is that there is no question that there will be a challenge to the coming administration in the arena of infectious diseases,” Fauci said.” https://gumc.georgetown.edu/gumc-stories/global-health-experts-advise-advance-planning-for-inevitable-pandemic/

Trump was sworn into office January 20, 2017, 8 days after that announcement. Dr. Fauci served five presidencies according to the article. But this administration will be challenged.

On October 2019 a table top exercise at John Hopkins Center for Health Security ‘Event 201’ gamed out a ‘pandemic’ as their exercise. https://www.centerforhealthsecurity.org/event201/videos.html#seg1

And then there is this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-x934In-Ao

“Suspicion is a virtue as long as its object is the public good, and as long as it stays within proper bounds. ... Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect every one who approaches that jewel”—Patrick Henry

Full Quote here: http://www.let.rug.nl/usa/documents/1786-1800/the-anti-federalist-papers/speech-of-patrick-henry-(june-5-1788).php

This is merely a tip of the tip of an iceberg of who comprises the authoritative ‘they’ that seem to govern the people apart from the ideology expressed in our Constitution: The government DERIVES it’s power from the people.

This article merely covers our current invasion of anti-rights, anti-freedom edict and dictates from the folks who today, and at least from the beginning of March of this year, make up ‘they’. Once more, for emphasis, we allowed ourselves to consider the greater good as “they” explained why it was necessary to take unparalleled reach from the Nation’s Capitol down deep into the lives of all Americans sequestered in our respective domiciles with rare exceptions to depart on specially approved errands. And, further heavy-handed restraints that while out and about on your ‘approved’ errand you were to be mindful of maintaining ‘social’ distance together with the ever changing on-with-the-mask-off-with-the-mask- on-with-the-mask-AGAIN stipulations. We did that despite many of us feeling that deep-down ring of our internal ‘Liberty Bell’.

We all began to release the pent-up air from our diaphragms as we awaited the next message ‘they” would be uttering to ostensibly release us from self-incarceration to the routine that was our lives before THEY devitalized them.

From that date to now the original group of ‘they’ have grown to include local and state government officials some of whom have long held latent precepts of their respective authority. Those included power grabs via a coup of immediate mandates that tight fistedly ruled our roost! Now the depth of our internal drive to live free surfaced all the way to our mind’s eye as oppressive, even extreme injunctions against our free roam tendencies, our way of life, our routine, our abilities to provide for our families and selves in no way measuring up to our former recently past lives. ‘They’ now cleverly moved the chess pieces of our lives around and introduced us to the ‘NEW’ normal.

ONLY by consent do we give authority over our lives to the rules ‘they’ wish to enforce. When we have demonstrated good citizenship by initially considering our neighbor, loving them as we love ourselves, the ‘old normal’ golden rule but the rules of our lives under ‘their’ dominion did not suffice the rules became burdensome, fully restrictive, tyrannical in reality. Now we begin to use Constitutional authority granted to us to move the influence of those regulations away from our family reestablishing the routine that cohesively binds us to our family, neighbors, and community.

The drone of the 1st amendment rights may annoy many, but those rights are to be secured by the government. If ‘they’ [the governments] operate outside of the authority of the US Constitution and we the  subjugated relent to what ‘they’ demand then we have the answer as to who ‘they’ are and we get what we give in the way of direct or tacit approval—a country with rights on an ancient piece of paper with no power drawn from them as they sit in the National Archives preserved for all posterity to see what used to be.

If on the other hand, we decide not to be crushed until the liberty is eked out of every pore in our bodies by trying to reason with the existing authority via communications then the other part of the 1st amendment which is the ‘right of the people peaceably to assemble and to petition the Government for redress of grievances.’ is our answer.  With freedom of speech and freedom of religion being truncated and freedom of press being exploited via biased narratives we engage last things left to us; publicly call attention to the untenable – or illogical disfunction of the prevailing governments by trying to urge them to return to the ‘rule of order’ as codified in the US Constitution and the associated Bill of Rights. In so doing, remember, the 1st Amendment uses the word ‘peaceably’ in the people assembled.

Let us be the united ‘they’ to the government and reclaim our NORMAL routine not some reimagined or transformed ‘New’ normal. Liberty is not negotiable; Freedoms cannot be transformed or reimagined. Opiniated, but submitted.

A Book Review Breaking Stalin's Nose, by Eugene Yelchin

A John Newberry Award winning Childen's Book: Breaking Stalin's Nose

Sometimes the best way to learn a lesson is through a child's personal story. “Breaking Stalin's Nose” depicts a loyal young boy named Sasha who is devoted to Stalin's teachings and deeply proud of his father, a member of the Secret Police. He dreams of becoming one of the Young Pioneers who march in the parades and take their oath of loyalty to their Leader. The mysterious arrest of his father sends him on a quest to alert Comrade Stalin of this great mistake, unaware that his neighbors had falsely accused the father of a crime in order to steal the family's bigger room in the apartment. The book exposes the living conditions, the government secrecy, and the events surrounding the disappearance of other neighbors and friends of Sasha, including his mother. The boy's eagerness and faith in his Leader, Comrade Stalin, tugs at the heart.

The story is fiction but it springs directly from the life experience of its author. While Mr. Yelchin wasn't born until the 1960's in the Soviet Union, and Stalin reigned from 1923 – 1953, the communist way of life was firmly established and the government practices borne from the Stalin era were still in use during the author's childhood. In the author's own words: “The communal apartment where Sasha lives with his father is similar to the one I grew up in. In addition to my family, several other families had to share one kitchen, one toilet, and one sink with a cold-water tap. My father and mother, my grandmother, and my brother and I were crowded into one small room. At night when the sofas, cots, and folding chairs were converted into beds, the only room left for my small cot was under our round dinner table.”

The book was written in 2011, many years after the author migrated to the USA and became a US citizen. But the interim years after his departure from Russia were spent researching and learning the Stalin regime. He writes in his personal note: “All of my schooling in Russia – elementary, middle, high school, and college – happened under Communist rule. Any information about the crimes of Stalinism had been repressed. Any attempt to gather or disseminate such information was severely punished. Now, I was living in America, a citizen, a father myself, but for the first time in my life, I was discovering the full extent of the events I had been only vaguely aware of. I realized it was my duty to tell the truth.”

The short story has black and white, but very realistic, drawings that highlight the chapters. It is recommended reading from the Newberry Honor Book as a distinguished American children's book. It is best understood by readers eleven and up. Younger readers may not grasp its meaning. The last section of the book is as equally captivating as the central theme when the author answers a Q&A on both his childhood and his Soviet life. I highly recommend this book which can be read for free from your community library or purchased for $7. I bought it to give as a gift after reading it at the library because I felt it imperative for my younger relatives to know. The author says it best: “I set this story in the past, but the main issue in it transcends time and place. To this day, there are places in the world where innocent people face persecution and death for making a choice about what they believe to be right.”

Sheepish About Freedom of Speech?

Silenced Sheep
If freedom of speech is taken away, then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.” – George Washington

If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” —George Orwell

For several years there has been a changing [I would even speculate a 'challenge] of thought—culturally—about freedom of speech. Younger folks want much less of it because it seemingly offends them. Freedom of speech is attacked via many angles not just head on. We have become adept at use of euphemisms to ‘soften the effect’ of the actual word that would directly explain our thoughts. George Carlin had a great routine he did exposing political correctness. He died in 2008 and yet much of what he said in the 1990’s is still applicable today with this exception: it has escalated to a tyrannical obsession! Interestingly, this too was addressed by actor Charlton Heston who opined: ‘Political Correctness is Tyranny; Just tyranny with Manners’?

There is no need to itemize the many ways our speech is now censored, curtailed, monitored and protested all of that is daily in our face from news and other sources.

What happens now as we approach a time when the elected leader of the free country of America may be a self-described socialist? How will you deal with your speech at that time when freedoms are absolutely abated? If right now, social media algorithms censor speech which doesn’t measure to the proper level of alleged political correctness as regulated by the 'ordained' yet one sided pillars of speech, what then? When a comment about a former fascist leader from the 20th century is removed as a violation of ‘posting’ standards; Or, merely a photo of that same person is removed and the person’s account that featured it is closed or put on temporary time out? If, for instance, one was to write a tidbit of truth germane to some conversation about freedom of speech which showed historically what happens when freedom of speech is forbidden by some dictatorial leader, what then?  When even the mere allusion to the example above, as a way to remind people how important it is to be free to express one’s self is penalized, what then? How can you teach lessons from the past if your words are censored? Better yet, your words being censored actually turn out to be disproportionate censuring by the very one who removes it. Then both you and your speech have been wiped.

There are topics that are of no interest to many of this world. Some people actually have a vehement response to things like religion, right to keep and bear arms, and now, who you believe to be the most reliable candidate to support your values!  Freedom of speech is verboten in many places, not by the government so much as by people who have authority over others among them educational, social media, and sadly, even in our circle of family and friends. Soon the generation who could have a lively debate between one another yet walk away with no damage to family or friendships will be gone and the only example for them will be ostracizing the individual at the very least, or death for defying acceptable decorum and etiquette as established by the ‘big brother’ class of the time, most generally the oppressive government.

Those who want to continue to enjoy not only their own freedom of speech but that of others but who continue to be thwarted by ‘time outs’ must figure out what best to do with their frustration. Exactly which battle to fight and which one to die on, figuratively speaking, as time passes and the squeeze on how we self-express is ever constricting.

On November 3rd. 2020, people will cast a vote for the candidate that best represents their values. It, in and of itself, is a manner of freedom of speech, or self-expression. If you are leaning towards democratic socialism, which is actually a mutually exclusive term, please do your research on the actual historic right to free speech in any of the known socialist or communist countries during the 20th century and those now in totalitarian power around the world. There are historic and current iconic photos of young people standing up to their tyrannical governments wishing to express their freedom of speech. In those countries things remain the same for decades. So, what about western nations who are voting for ‘democratic socialism’? They believe it is some utopia where ideally everyone will simply embrace their speech restrictions. And if they don’t? Reeducation centers will help them.

The word ‘construct’ has become synonymous with what one believes then being framed by a person’s assigned identity. For instance, now my years of life on earth where my belief has been formed through empirical, experiential and intuitive knowledge actually frames my worldview. Am I not the sum of a life of my own observations or am I reduced to my assigned identity as a specific ethnic, religious, gender, age thus? What if I am from an era already redefined by revisionists as hate filled whose sense of pride in this country is colored with such terminology as racism, bigotry, etcetera? See, while I was raised by two parents in a home with 3 siblings and a four legged canine family member in a small town and taught the wonder and privilege  of being born in this country; because I hail a specific religion, I adhere to my beliefs faithfully, am married to a veteran who shares my values about family, faith and pride of country; the construct foisted upon us is that of ‘white privilege’ and ‘racism’. And frankly, that entire construct is altogether inapplicable in our case. Yet, the frustrations we feel when we see an entire culture just wholly accepting such thoughts almost as if via osmosis, is sad to watch. Sooner than we think, an entire generation of people will be so inculcated with notions which run antithetically to freedoms and rights they will not be able to comprehend what independence in all things and pride in one’s individualism and uniqueness actually looks like, feels like and is like. When they care more that a calf needs its milk so dairy farmers should be closed down than a baby being murdered via abortion any moment from conception to after being born -- the values of that generation and possibly the generation itself will be doomed.

How do we forestall that unsatisfactory reality? Perhaps, by teaching everyone what free speech really is; by living an independent and individual life; by making sure we inculcate in young minds the idea that their elders have much to share in knowledge and wisdom and their choice to live the beauty of freedom of speech, freedom of religion, to experience a truly free press [not governed by corporate agendas designed to garner maximum dollars], the freedom to gather together and the freedom to redress our government when we feel they have wronged us. It means they know implicitly the only way to secure all our freedoms is by way of the second amendment which ‘shall not be infringed’. When they inquire of us why and how we can think and act the way we do -- we take the time to explore why and what they refer to that you may clearly explain with the answer they seek. Be sure to remind them they have a right to form their own opinions and those opinions can be changed with more information. To be fair, this is important to do with all people who object to your life. We have individual rights – not collective rights. We have equal rights but not all things happen equally.

Do not sheepishly paw at the ground in frustration. EXPRESS YOURSELF!

Nathan Martin For State Representative Meet n Greet 2.20.2020

Nathan Martin, For State Representative -- 21st Century Younger George Washington

Feb. 21, 2020

Mansfield, Ohio

A determined collection of citizens from Richland County, Ohio, braved the 18 degree weather on a weekday evening to quiz Nathan Martin, candidate for State Representative to Richland  County. From Jobs to 2nd Amendment fidelity, City Councilman Martin was more than up to the job of taking the questions and the passion behind every question.

Councilman Martin is decidedly a man of GOD/Faith, Family, Country, Community and a citizen servant.  As he spoke, you could hear the echos of the character of George Washington whose daily regimen included much prayer and a lifelong routine of working on character development -- like that of humility.

Manifest evidence of a man’s life being informed through his faith as it threads it's way through his family and public life was on immediate display. He opened the ‘Meet and Greet’ with prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a specific set of rules which included the request that any questions about his opponent show respect for her -- referring to her by her title as Commissioner.

His immediate goals: Government reform, Tax reform and Education reform. The three big objectives as State Representative acknowledging it is likely to take an eight year commitment to fully secure these objectives.

The Q & A session included a streaming audience on Facebook Live.

Q] ‘I read in a flyer you are a ‘never Trumper.’

A] A flyer mass mailed to Republicans contained the allegation he was a 'never Trumper'. Acknowledgement was made he did not support Trump in 2016 election although he has been very pleased with President Trump’s policies especially those supporting ‘religious freedom’. He assured those present he fully supports President Trump. Here is a link to find his responses to the flyer: https://campaign.nathanjmartin.com/facts/

Q] ‘What sets you apart from your opponent?’

A] Accessibility, debate policy, care for constituents. At this time, there is no debate scheduled and the candidate stated he had asked everyone he could to make it happen. He did refer folks to the IVoterguide for their assessment of him.  https://ivoterguide.com/my-ballot?Address=44906
ivoterguide.com/44906
Ivoterguide.com

Q] ‘What is your stand on the Second Amendment as regards what is going on in Virginia right now and how would you stop that from happening in Ohio?

A] “Fight like the dickens to make sure it doesn’t happen!”

Q] ‘Families in Richland County have kids going to college and getting a job outside of Ohio which makes it difficult for the cohesion of the family. How do we get jobs to Richland County?

A] Ohio is not business friendly. Ways to change that would need to be done through tax reform, etc. Councilman Martin would like to see access to high speed internet for everyone as a way to create opportunity for innovation and to spur ingenuity together with tax breaks for all as part of the solution to job creation in Richland County. He also acknowledged the outsourcing of jobs overseas as a culprit that needs to be addressed.

Other questions included how to develop better support the Foster Care system in Richland County; What can be done with the opiate crisis – to which he mentioned institutional assistance to break addiction like faith-based institutions.

The meeting concluded with an invitation to his weekly ‘Fireside Chats’ Tuesdays, 8p on Facebook Live [nathan martin for state representative on Facebook].

He invited everyone to write Letters to the Editors both to Digital --Richland Source --and traditional sources --Mansfield News Journal.

Last reminder of the evening: Election is March 17, 2020

Editor’s comments: Councilman Martin appears to be fully connected to his personal integrity and displays it comfortably when queried about his politics -- an admirable quality in this day and age.

How the Nation was Won America's Untold Story Vol 1 Book Review

H.Graham Lowry's, How the Nation was Won;  America's Untold Story(1630 – 1754)

I found the timeline in this book's title to be intriguing considering the current push to rewrite America from the year 1619. Why would the author select 1630, but not 1620, or even 1624 since that year new settlements were forming in the “New World”, or the New England? In his introduction the author covers the early 1600's as he lays the groundwork for the state of affairs of 1630.

Governments were dominated by oligarchical Jesuits, the Ottoman Empire was destroying entire countries. King James I and then his son, Charles I, were lusting for more power and were intolerant, abusive. By 1629, King Charles I had mandated that the English Parliament be completely disbanded. The ensuing anarchy brought momentary collapse of monarchy rule and seizing the moment, stepping into this mayhem, came John Winthrop. Having inherited land in what we now call Massachusetts, land that was awarded to his grandfather from Henry VIII, Winthrop and a band of clever rebels rushed to mobilize like-minded Puritans to form new settlements in New England. It would be established with legal sanction from the crown as he had written a charter which he submitted as soon as the chaos erupted. The document was formed under the Massachusetts Bay Company. As explained in Lowry's book (page 7):

“To secure the constitutional freedom required to nurture a republican society, Winthrop and his allies managed a diplomatic coup, with not a little subterfuge and considerable sums of money, which gave the Massachusetts Bay Company a charter, enabling it to govern its own affairs in New England. It was signed by Charles I, just two days after the attempt to arrest parliamentary leaders who defied the order to dissolve. The language omitted the standard requirement that the governance of the company be based in England. Moreover, the charter empowered the 'freemen' of the company to elect their own governor and other officials, and make laws and ordinances for their own benefit and for the government of persons inhabiting their territory. The royal docket item explaining the charter stipulated holding the election of the company's 'governor and officers here in England,' but no such provision appeared in the charter itself.”

This brilliant move to omit England's authority in the charter would not be realized for some months and by the time of the discovery the colonialists self-rule would be rooted and their fight to continue its purpose well ingrained. Furious with the deception when discovered, Charles I demanded immediate retrieval of the charter, a well resisted fight lasting well into the late 1600's. This is a fascinating read, deeply informative, delving into the early settling on American shores and the impact on world affairs from this infant nation. The author's academic approach to these historical times includes the countries whose laws and traditions helped to form the eventual laws and doctrine of early America. It is completely unlike the academic textbooks of today.

Written in 1987, its price runs from $20 to $85, perhaps reflecting the quality of original historical material revealed. It is a riveting page-turner loaded with suspense and treachery including the Parliament's poisoning of Queen Anne, the debauchery of England's church and government, to the battles secretly waged against the English commissioners who were sent to New England to retrieve the freedom charters and to assume governance of  the colonists. It is filled with mystery and suspense, and perhaps a bit of humor, when exposing how the greed and arrogance of English conquerors was fodder for manipulation in the hands of colonial spies waging their own secret coups both within and without the English Parliament. The breathless excitement builds during this timeline of 1630 – 1754. The bold and daring actions of freedom fighters lay the groundwork for the eventual American Revolution. The book fully honors the memory of these incomparable patriots and even raises the curiosity of the reader. Can this determination, this shrewdness and commitment to freedom, rise again in the hearts of Americans when their country is at stake?

Reflections On The Failure of Socialism

Reflections On The Failure of Socialism

This book was originally published in 1955 and sold for 75
cents. It is a collector's item now and can be found selling from $23 - $150 on various websites. It is an interesting commentary written from the author's perspective as he pivots from his hardcore fervor for a global, socialistic ideology to the realization of the ultimate, proven failure of such idealism. I found this book to be a basic explanation of our world today in 2020, some 65 years later. His arguments and reasoning still apply. His words of wisdom, borne of self-experience, soberly taps the shoulder of any liberty-minded patriot, evoking self-conscious examination of our own personal responsibility in maintaining the precious freedoms we so casually enjoy.

The author, Max Eastman, a US citizen, delves into his dreams of a utopian, socialistic community. He lived the lofty principles he hoped would provide the foundation of a common society based on socialism. He writes of his decision to support, and then live, in the aftermath of the Bolshevik revolution of 1917. He was present for the hopeful adoption of the Marx – Engles philosophies, then the Nazi German occupation, and Chinese Revolution, after which he was driven to sadly conclude that these styles of governments 'work only if under a dictator'.

Mr Eastman's greatest surprise was the apathy his peers showed when confronted with the idealism of communism against the actual harsh reality of its implementation. He writes, (p 57): “I still think the worst enemy of human hope is not the brute facts, but men of brains who will not face them. … I never dreamed, however, that they could sink to the depths of maudlin self-deception and perfectly abject treason of truth, freedom, justice, and mercy that many of them have reached in regard to the Russian debacle. That has indeed profoundly, and more than any other shock, whether emotional or intellectual, disabused me of the dream of liberty under a socialist state.”

He further explains the clever manipulation of language used to veil the atrocities he witnessed. For instance, (p69): “The term 'working class' was detached from the actual workers and attached to party believers in the Marxian theory about what the workers were going to do. This innocent-looking maneuver set the style for such etymological atrocities as calling it 'liberation' when the Red Army marches in and arrests, jails, rapes, deports, or shoots 50 percent of a nation's population, and pinning upon the resulting perfect tyranny the name of the “People's Democracy”.

This is a revealing read that provides many uncomfortable parallels to our current 2020 political climate. The devolvement of the duty of our own American government from being 'for the people' into what has become the controlling of the people is proven through endless, unelected bureaucracies who write legislation empowering them to actually jail its citizenry. For instance, the Internal Revenue Service, Environmental Protection Agency, or even the Child's Protection Service where children are forcibly removed from their parental homes, are rarely questioned and work without oversight. The cost of the socialist/communist ideology, the death toll and misery it brings, becomes all to clear in this brief 127-page book. It is an unofficial plea to the American Public.

2020 Candidates -- Could They Have Dirty Laundry?

Profiles in Corruption – Abuse of Power by America’s Progressive Elite

FACT: Peter Schweizer’s book details the case that supports the title of his newest release. Out today, January 22, 2020, the book ends up with 90 pages of notes with resource sites to establish veracity of the authors findings on your own. In the coming days watch for commentary detailing some of the more interesting details.

OPINION: As this site is predicated on ‘News & Events Impacting Your Individual Liberties’ [libertypolepost.com – Title Description] a review of this and other books is relevant as to how our individual liberties are being impacted by the electoral process. In this case, by way of vetting some of the candidates seeking election to the Presidency in 2020.

EDITORIAL: With the election some 285 days away, it would seem there may be some inconvenient facts which will be exposed that adds critical information into the public domain for the electorate to read, prove and decide how they will vote. It will be interesting to see the struggle for some who will clearly see the rock and the hard place their ideologies and their favorite candidate have put them in. For some 3 years so many folks have vaunted their high moral ground by making inflammatory remarks, engaging in impeachment frenzy, in parading out every miniscule mistake or seeming mistake the man they believe stole the election -- while it appears living pretty much like the very man they have alleged with great disdain is the scourge of the world. While our President has lived a life unlike most of those who support him having lived out loud for decades in New York in a fairly flamboyant lifestyle with all the trappings, he has toned it way down since being sworn into office as President. His supporters know he is known for making what some call ‘shady’ business decisions before becoming president and many found his character assassinations of his 2016 Republican rivals very uncomfortable, unacceptable. And, that quality has not subsided since becoming President. He has refocused his ire toward a completely different batch of people from the ‘media’ and ‘entertainment’ personalities as well as some of his political opponents. But, interestingly, the first strike has always been the ones who ultimately wind up in his Twitter cross hairs. They hold up obscene images of him, make public announcements with vulgar and profane words about him, make editorial remarks as if they are in the know setting him in a most unbecoming and negative light and so much of America, who did not like it in 2016 has grown to understand there are many who just will not let his election go. Most of his supporters would never themselves behave like he does but you see and hear his rallies. They are fed up with being discounted and disregarded; tired of being called despicable names and accusing them of abysmal character traits, prejudices while demeaning their cultural traditions. President Trump becomes a sort of proxy voice for those who have far more grace and self-restraint to voice their thoughts. They need not. He has and as a consequence, together with many of the positive affects of his presidency they support this flawed man.

This book’s timing is incredible, and I suspect not coincidental. It may be picked up by those in the media who exhibit such contemptible behavior towards President Trump and if so it will likely be focused on the candidates they do not wish to be elected leaving out the information on the candidate they want.

Senate Phase of Impeachment

The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.” -Article 2, Section 4 U.S Constitution.

January 21, 2020, the Senate is set to begin their role in an impeachment process designed to remove the 45th president of the United States, President Donald J. Trump. The actual authority for an impeachment process is set out in Article 2, Section 4, [above] and is quite clear what constitutes grounds for impeachment. Drawing your attention to this sort of plain – though a dichotomy too – language: “Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors”. The president must be found guilty, convicted, of treason, bribery -- plain; or other high crimes and misdemeanors.  -- Some ambiguity in order to be removed from office.

The two articles in the Senate for impeachment: ‘Abuse of Power’ and ‘Obstruction of Congress’. Sadly, in today’s culture, wisdom, common sense and logic have slipped through the figurative fingers of an affect driven polity. In place of the aforementioned wisdom etc., is the new big important decision maker and authority: FEELINGS, an emotive premise. This reduces everything to what little kids say all the time when things don’t go their way, ‘it’s not fair’. Right? Right! Instead of looking at all things rationally most today want short clips of news parsed out to meet the most common emotions, fairness and outrage, and if it does not deliver either one or both the dissonant jar to their emotions becomes intolerable. Hence, the two nonsensical articles handed to the Senate to try the president. Abuse of Power? The President of this country is generally referred to as the ‘most’ powerful man on earth. And, in this case, for the first time in 3 decades, it is appropriate to recognize this as factual. You might imagine to ‘abuse’ that power it must have been something really big. But did he actually abuse his power in requesting assistance from the Ukrainian Government in their investigation of their corruption. Did you know at least a billion dollars went missing given to them by our former administration? A billion taxpayer dollars? Don’t you think we should have some accounting?

The other charge ‘obstruction of congress’ boils down to certain key administration personnel, past and present, have been charged with ‘executive privilege’ and thus until the Court deems their privilege revocable, they cannot testify. Why privilege? This is a big NATIONAL political cum criminal [if the House has their way] case. But, while it is congressional it still is required to follow certain amendments of the Constitution, like the 6th Amendment: “In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence.” In  other words, a criminal defendant's right to an attorney is found in the Sixth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.  It requires the "assistance of counsel" for the accused "in all criminal prosecutions." This means that a defendant has a constitutional right to be represented by an attorney during trial. In the case of client/attorney there is understood a ‘privilege’ where the attorney cannot be compelled to divulge his client’s conversations without the express and specific permission by the client. In the case of the President, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand you do not want the world to be informed of sensitive and strategic national security related information. Nor do you want the president’s own attorneys to be compelled to divulge their client’s conversations without the expressed and specific permission of and by the president. These matters too could be strategic as related to national security. It is doleful indeed that this administration is faced with an intolerable and unacceptable number of questionable individuals who have divulged [leaked] information with negative causal results both to our nation and our national security.

Not a few citizens who watched the laborious House Committees Impeachment process found it a total bore. They trotted out people with clear biases against the president who manifested clear vehemence even in general conversation as well as testimony. The two leaders did not exercise their right to subpoena any of the individuals they felt were key to their case. Without actual treason, bribery or other high ‘crimes’ and ‘misdemeanors’ they created their own charges both of which could be found easily dismissed or found not guilty.

First, the Senate has to lay out and agree on the ground rules. The agreed upon rules will dictate how the Senate proceeds. Will they dismiss immediately as there were no acceptable charges? Will they call witnesses, witnesses the House hastily opted not to call so they could rush the process to its finale before Christmas break? Will they require one for one witness testimony vis-à-vis, they bring theirs the Senate bring theirs? Will they limit the time the Senate will allow the trial to last or will they let it run its course cutting into the 2020 presidential campaigns for those Senators running for president? Will the Senate leader hold his ground and keep the process as pure and close to constitutional process as can be?

It all begins Tuesday, Jan 21, 2020, 287 days before the next presidential election.

Updates as interesting and new points arise from the Senate process.
